Everything Goes Right For the Mets

In todays game against the Phillies, everything that the Mets touched turned to gold, whether it was the offense, pitching, or everything in between. The Mets has hit 4 Home Runs in the game and seem to be hitting more and more as the season goes on and now have 41 for the season which is the 7th most int he league.

Duda hit two of those shots and brought his season total up to 8 which now leads the team and has the 6th most in the league by a 1st baseman. Cuddyer also hit a Home Run, his 5th, and Syndergaard, the star of the show went on to hit his first career blast. Syndergaard went 3 for 3 at the plate and is 4 of his last 4 dating back to his last outing.

In addition to hitting 2 Home Runs, Duda had also hit a double, which turns out to be the 100th of his career and puts him 4th on the All Time doubles list by a Mets 1st baseman and brought his average up to .305.

On the other side of the ball, Syndergaard threw 7 and a third scoreless innings with 6 hits and no walks while striking out 6 and bringing his ERA down to just above 2.5. The sweep of the Phillies brought the Mets to 27-21 on the year and now stand at 1 game behind the Nationals for the NL East and are now int he 2nd Wild Card spot. The Mets get tomorrow off and then start a 3 game series with the Marlins at Citi Field who have a worse record than the Phillies at 18-30 and have lost their last 3 games.
