With Niese on the mound for the Mets tonight, they will need to hit Drew Hutchinson early and often. As of late, Hutchinson hasn't been performing to greatly and has given up 13 Earned Runs over his last 14 innings Pitched though thanks to a stellar Blue jays offense has been able to get by with a 1-0 record in his last 3 starts. However, when he's at home, he's amazing so the only chance the Mets have at winning today is if Hutch's performance from his last start in Boston rolls over.
In his last two home games, Hutch gave up 1 run or fewer which included a Complete Game Shutout and for the season boasts a 2.72 ERA.
In his last start against the Giants, Niese gave up 2 Earned Runs in 7 innings. That was the first time in 8 starts that he gave up less than 3 Runs in an outing but against the Blue Jays offense he could find some trouble. Overall, it's not going to be easy for the Mets to win, if Niese can continue from his previous start and Hutch can't get back on track, then it's possible that the Mets can scrape out a win
